Even when you think you got everything covered.......traniing can always through you a blind side.

We were training recently with shikomi zue after demonstrating with wodden weapons we need to use a real one to illustrate several specific points of the weapon. Despite me beleiving I covered every safety option and moving very slowley I still mangaed to cut a friend very badly on a finger.

Saftey must be foremost in our minds when we train.

We all know it;s not a knitting circle ...

Some require a copy of the Dojo public liabitlity, others a membership card of sorts.

Seems a better way of policing it.

BTW..prob should be in the rant section but I wrote a letter to the home office congratulating them on the ban of martial arts weapons, as there have been 22 murders in London to date and not a ...

What does Karate have to do with it?

Bloody journalists that need to get a real job needing to 'sex' up a story to sell newspapers.

We've been playing with chi for the past few weeks.

I've a new crop of black belts so now's the time.

Here's a good one for you to try.

Concentrate on the first 2 fingers of your favourite striking hand.

Using just these two fingers snap a very quick snap on your training partners bare arm saying "Cha" (very softly).

Time the words to the snap.

We got some blisters coming up like when we do Red Sand Palm, so I turned the lights out and when it really works you get sparks!!!!

One time my jujitsu club took on a judo club, I got thrown - hard and dislocated my leg.

My instructor put me out, put the leg back in, smothered it in tiger balm and told me to get on with it.

The list is too long to go on with but here's the question - should you do it?

My view now is get over the injury then come back when you're fit, cold damp mornings are hell now with the accumulation of broken and dislocated bones.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/7398202.stm

Not a problem with their veiwsd, but to do this in a front garden by a main road is bound to give out the wrong message.

Plus they need to learn how to handle weapons before they try to throw them at each other LOL.

If your reading this guy's give us a call and we'll show you how to do it properly :-)

Kicking:

Positives- Longer reach, More power, easier to block low kicks

Negatives- Slower to recover
